Baldwin County Citizens Join National Climate Initiative

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. Joining hundreds of active chapters, the Baldwin County chapter has formed to help create the political will for a livable world.
Using a respectful, nonpartisan approach to climate education, CCL seeks to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. They build upon shared values rather than partisan divides and empower volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.
“We are working for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the ‘best first-step’ to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world,” says chapter organizer Riva Fralick. CCL believes this policy will drive down America’s carbon pollution while unleashing American technology innovation and ingenuity.
Fralick says, “I am hopeful that now the climate crisis is on the political agenda, that rapid change to a clean, sustainable energy future is possible.”
