Classes and Videos Inspire Colorful Cooking

Wildflowers and Fresh Food, LLC is a local business that brings folks together with a simple and colorful approach to cooking and life. On March 10, 2020, owner Kristin Alpine RN, BSN is hosting a kids cooking class after school at Little Point Clear in Fairhope.
“Imagine an afternoon where kids put down the technology and instead explore an herb garden, chop ingredients and set the table together all the while chatting about the world as they see it. We would call it a cooking class but much more happens here,” Alpine says. As a mom, nurse and foodie, Alpine is a nurturer and enjoys nothing more than seeing confidence bloom. Her students leave class with new recipes and heart-shaped seed paper for homegrown wildflowers.
Her classes aren’t always limited to kids—people of all ages, foodies and new cooks alike, are invited into the kitchen for a shared experience. Last month’s private classes welcomed newlyweds, bachelorettes and 40th birthday celebrations. “Folks come out of these classes feeling bonded and, well, just a little bit better about the world,” Alpine says.
In addition to classes, Wildflowers and Fresh Food has a YouTube channel featuring Alpine with well-known local business owners preparing simple and healthy recipes as they share their own stories, podcast-style.
