Start the Year with Group Health Coaching

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, lifestyle-related chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke and cancer account for 50 percent of deaths in the U.S. with heart disease consistently the leading cause of death since 2014. Also, obesity, prediabetes and diabetes are reaching epidemic levels of prevalence in the U.S. and spreading globally. Health coaching can help people stay on, or get on, the best side of these statistics.

Health coaching is a vehicle for helping people achieve a higher level of well-being and performance in life and work, particularly when change is hard. The benefit of group coaching is that ideas can be shared along with resources for healthy activities, meals, meal planning, shopping and prep.

Group Coaching: Eat Healthy-Live Healthy

For anyone struggling to prioritize healthy eating and staying active after the holidays, group health coaching, with the sole purpose to structure a plan to stay on track, begins on January 5, 2022 and runs for five Wednesdays (on Zoom) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Participants will learn:

~Why whole and organic foods are necessary for a healthy life.

~What foods work best for you.

~ How to switch to a wellness mindset, prioritizing nutrition daily with love-to-eat foods. (Hint:  Everyone can incorporate healthy eating into a busy schedule.)

Included in the sessions will be learning the Health.gov standards for adult BMI, daily nutrition and hydration, alcohol, sleep and cardiovascular plus strength activities. Participants will follow a plan to detoxify by participating in a two-week whole foods detox/elimination diet to lose weight and create a healthier body for the year, learn to calculate BMI and implement macro-nutrient caloric strategies (i.e., how many calories/carbs/fats/proteins are optimal daily).

Create a stronger, healthier, lighter you by detoxifying your body. From January 5 through February 2, 2022, the group will plan a two-week whole foods detox and elimination diet to determine which foods work best for each individual’s health. This will include calculating a personal wellness formula for each participant that includes specific amounts of sleep, activity, meals per day, connections and recreation.

The group will be facilitated by Michelle Smith, Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and owner of Good Life Health Coaching.
