Healthy Food and Drink Options at Press & Co.

Located in the heart of Olde Towne Daphne, AL, Press & Co. is a
local, organic cold press juicery and eatery that takes pride in providing
nutritious superfood and beverage options. Press & Co. offers the community
a wide range of healthy food options including plant-based, gluten-free and
low-sugar alternatives. In addition, the business hopes to impact the community
by creating a gathering place for health, love and happiness.
According to partners, Alex Pikul and Kimberly Cox, they want to
educate the community on nutritional information through Press & Co.
branding elements and guidance from their knowledgeable staff.
Readers may recognize Alex Pikul as the owner of Fairhope’s Kind
Café. When asked what drew Pikul to partner with Cox, he said, “It was
Kimberly’s purpose and vision for Press & Co. She calls it ‘pain to
purpose.’ She wants to provide a place she can feel good about. Press & Co,
sources the highest quality ingredients and doesn’t cut any corners. If you’re
going to be successful in the hospitality industry, you need to be
purpose-driven and aligned on how you can live out that purpose. That’s
Kimberly.”
Cox’s venture is based on her wellness journey after having three
children and experiencing health issues. After many medical visits and no
answers, she discovered functional medicine. She then changed her diet to focus
on organic, fresh foods and began to heal herself. Her new organic, gluten-free
diet made it difficult to eat out with her family, so she decided to solve the
problem by opening a health-focused restaurant in Daphne.
To cater to busy young working professionals and families, Press
& Co. offers freshly made juices, smoothies or bowls to provide convenient,
nutritious meals or snack options.
Plant-based soft serve is proving to be a big hit with the kids.
Cox said, “We did a big ice cream test when we were deciding what product to
offer and this one got voted best by Luke, who is a tough critic!”
The cold pressed juice menu offers something for everyone. “We’ve
got the Green Machine, which is popular with juice connoisseurs. Then there’s
Wild Card, which is a blue lemonade containing healthy ingredients,” Cox
explained. “We also have something in the middle. If you still want your greens
but a little sweeter, you’ll find that as well. I think many will be surprised
at the taste. They are really good.”
The coffee menu offers lattes, drip coffee, cappuccino and English
breakfast tea, but they are all organic, single-origin products. Organic isn’t
as hard to come by in the coffee and tea world, but the other elements were
trickier. “It was a little more difficult to source the right syrups and
chocolate,” Pikul said. “The things people still expect from coffee while still
holding true to our brand.”
Press & Co. also has a small but eclectic cocktail menu that
includes organic ingredients and liquor.
