New Yoga Studio Focuses on Prenatal and Postnatal Classes

Born To Birth Yoga is a new online yoga studio for moms and moms-to-be who have the desire to practice yoga, but are not comfortable going to in-person classes. Founder and Mobile-based yoga teacher Veronica Diaz changed careers to launch this business and do what she loves—serve, inspire and empower women on their path to motherhood.

“When I was pregnant, I had a lot of help from awesome women, but I was not able to find a yoga teacher in Mobile who specialized in prenatal yoga,” says Diaz, who has 3-year-old and 8-month-old daughters. “I believe every mom needs a community of support during this amazing season of their lives.”

Prenatal classes, offered on Saturdays at 10 a.m., during 2021, teach students how to manage physical and mental discomfort, and offer tips and techniques that can be applied during labor. In addition to physical postures, breathing exercises, mantras and meditations, the class covers diet, self-care and journaling. Students also have time to share during class to help each other process unfamiliar emotions.

On Sundays at 10 a.m., during 2021, postnatal classes include gentle stretches to soothe discomforts from handling baby, strengthening exercises for the abdominals, a safe space where moms can discuss their road to recovery and a long, much-needed relaxation session. Students will also learn breathing exercises and meditations to manage stress.

In the Mommy & Me classes on Saturdays at 9 a.m., during 2021, Diaz teaches Ayurvedic baby massage, music and movement for baby, plus gentle stretches and strength-building poses for mom.
